Editing Rule Extension Properties

This task shows you how to edit the properties of a rule extension.

Creating a Rule Extension
  1. In the Properties page toolbar, click Edit Details.

    Note: You can also edit a rule extension by clicking in the Edit column at the end of the rule extension's row in the Rule Extensions page. The edit page that opens from this context is the same as the page that is used to create a rule extension. From this page, you can make additional modifications to the rule.



  2. Make modifications, as necessary. The following can be changed:

    Field Description
    Name Type name of the rule extension. This field is required.
    Program Click to select the program to which the rule extension belongs. This field is required.
    Argument Enter the input parameter(s) to be passed into the program as argument(s). Multiple arguments must be separated by space characters. The argument type is assumed to be String. This field is required.
    Comments Type details that describe the rule extension. This field is required.
    Rule Classification Select Configuration, Logical, or Manufacturing.
    Design Responsibility Click to assign the organization or project that has design responsibility for the rule extension. By default, the design responsibility is populated with the design responsibility associated with the object in context. See Assigning Design Responsibility.
    Vault Click to select the vault in which the rule extension is stored.

  3. Click Done to save your selections.
