Viewing the Dashboard for a Program

The Dashboard category for a program displays dashboard details for all projects in the program. The Dashboard Details page for a program is just like the Dashboard Details page for any dashboard collection that you create. Instead of you selecting the projects to add to the dashboard, the application automatically adds to the dashboard all projects in the current program.

Before you begin: View the list of programs. See Listing Programs.
  • Click the Name of the program.

For each project in the program, this page lists these details:

Name. The name of the project. Click to view the Dashboard for the project. See Working With Dashboards..

Current Phase. Identifies the current Milestone, Phase or Tollgate the project is in, which is the first incomplete, top-level task. The top-level task's estimated End Date is used to determine the Current Phase. To get information about the current phase, click the name of the task. If all tasks are complete, the current phase is the last top-level task. Click to view the WBS page for the listed phase or task. See Working With Dashboards..

Current Phase Date. The estimated finish date for the current phase task. If the task is complete, this is the actual finish date.

Slip Days. The number of business days that the project is late. For a completed project, this is based on actual vs. estimated finish date. For an active project, it is based on the current system date vs. the estimated finish date for the current milestone. The number of slip days is shown in one of three colors. The thresholds for the color codes are described below but these can be configured by the host company and therefore may be different for your system:

    • red = the current date is 5 or more days after the estimated end date for the latest task
    • yellow = the current date is 0 to 4 days later than the estimated end date for the latest task
    • green = the current date is before the estimated end date for the latest task so the task is not yet late

Risks. The total number of risks at the highest alert level. For example, if there are red risks for the project, the total number of red risks is displayed and the number is red. If there are no red risks but there are yellow risks, the total number of yellow risks is displayed. If there are only green risks, the total number of green risks are displayed. Click to see the list of the risks. See Listing Risks.

P.A. Project Assessment. Shows the latest overall project assessment red/green/yellow code. To view the assessment, click the hyperlink to the Assessment navigation tree. The latest overall assessment status is displayed on the dashboard.

Cost Ratio. The ratio of Actual Cost divided by the Planned Costs. If actual costs haven't been entered yet, the ratio is 0. To see details about the project budget, click the ratio. The ratio is shown in one of three colors. The thresholds for the color codes are described below but these can be configured by the host company and therefore may be different for your system:

    • red = Cost ratio is greater than 10% of plan
    • yellow = Cost ratio is greater than 0% but less than 10%
    • green = Cost ratio is less than or equal to the planned cost

Total Cost. A rollup of all actual amounts for all cost categories.

Total Benefit. A rollup of all actual amounts for all benefit categories.

Metrics. Link to the metrics charts. See Viewing Metric Visuals for a Project.

Project Owner. The name of the owner of the project.

Quality. Link to the list of quality objects. See Listing CTQs for a Project.

Business Unit. The business unit responsible for the project. Click to view the details page for the business unit.

Program. The name of the project's parent program. Click to view the dashboard for the parent program (this page) in a new window.
