Using Structure Capture

Use this procedure to have the system automatically mark up text for capture using MS Word 7 outline view. With structure capture, the system automatically marks all heading-level text as Chapters and any other text as body text.

Depending on you requirement capture settings, heading-level text can appear highlighted using the default MS Word highlighting color. Other text is also shaded according to your settings. For more information, see Changing Requirement Capture Settings.

Before you begin:

Requirement Capture must be installed. For instructions, see Installing ENOVIA Requirement for Word.

A requirement specification must be opened in MS Word.

  1. Select text you want to capture.

  2. On the Requirement Capture toolbar, click (Structure Capture). The system displays the specification in outline view and the text you selected in step 1 is highlighted or shaded according to your capture settings.

  3. Use the Requirement Capture toolbar to manually mark additional text for capture, or you can use keyword capture. See Using Keyword Capture.

  4. To exclude marked text from capture, click (Find) on the Requirement Capture toolbar. See Clearing Captures.

  5. On the Requirement Capture toolbar, click (Import). See Importing Captures.
