Part Properties

The Properties page shows details about the part and provides access to related parts, such as revisions, alternates, substitutes and spares. It also provides access to other related objects, such as the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and EBOM markups, ECOs and ECRs. Depending on the type of part, the information shown will vary.

To access this page:


  1. Navigate to a page that lists parts, such as a search results page. See Searching Using the Consolidated Search Form.
  2. Click the name of a part.

Fields

Part Type Field Name Description
All Name The name or number of the part. For plant-specific parts this is the name of the parent enterprise part.
Type or Part Type The type or subtype of the part.
Description The description of the part. For plant-specific parts this is the description of the parent enterprise part.
State The lifecycle state of the part.
Revision The revision level of the part. For plant-specific parts this is the revision of the parent enterprise part.
Weight The reference weight for the part.
Unit of Measure The unit of measurement for the part.
Owner The owner of the part.
Policy The policy of the part.
Vault The vault containing the part.
Compliance Enterprise Parts Revision Date The revision date of the part.
Design Responsibility The organization with design responsibility for the part.
Originator The originator of the part.
Originated Date The originated date for the part.
Modified Date The last modified date.
External Part Stage The state of the part as defined in an external BOM system.
Part Application An application description for the part.
Part Version The version description for the part.
Compliance Plant Specific Parts Revision Date The revision date of the parent enterprise part.
Plant Location The host company location for the plant-specific part.
Design Responsibility The organization with design responsibility for the part.
Originator The originator of the part.
Originated Date The originated date for the part.
Modified Date The last modified date.
External Part Stage This is the external part stage of the parent enterprise part.
Part Application This is the part application of the parent enterprise part.
Part Version The version of the parent enterprise part.
Manufacturer Equivalent Parts (MEPs) Part Origin Set to "Manufacturer Equivalent".
Manufacturer The company name of the manufacturer for the part.
Originated The originated date for the part.
Modified The last modified date.
Estimated Cost The cost estimated to purchase this part from the manufacturer.
Lead Time Any lead time required in the purchase of the part.
Part Classification A part classification used by the manufacturer.
Effectivity Date The date on which this part's cost and lead time is effective.
Originator The originator of the part.
Spare Part Indicates whether the intended use for the part is as a spare for the principle part used in the assembly.
Material Category The substance the part is made of, for example: Metal, Plastic, Glass, Rubber, Concrete.
Target Cost The amount of money that the part is expected to cost on a per part basis.
Manufacturer Location The location of the manufacturer company.
Enable Materials Compliance A flag indicating whether this part is used in material composition. If parts that will never have material composition are not disabled, the top level part will be calculated erroneously for compliance.
MFG Rev The manufacturer's revision level.
Rev Date The manufacturer's date of revision.
Parts created inEngineering Central Part Family If the part is a member of a part family, you can click the link to view the Properties page for the family. See Part Family Properties.
Design Responsibility The name of the organization that has design responsibility for the part.
ECO to Release The Engineering Change Order that is required in order to release the part. This attribute is shown only if specified by the Business Administrator. See the Engineering Central Administrator's Guidefor details.
Originated The originated date for the part.
Modified The last modified date.
Estimated Cost The amount of money that the part creator estimates that it will take to make the part on a per part basis.
Lead Time The estimated time that it will take to manufacture the part.
Part Classification By default the following choices are available: Unassigned, Wiring Harness, Software, Sheet Metal, Printed Circuit Board, Molded, Machined, Hardware, Extrusion, Other.
Effectivity Date Date when the part will become effective in the bill of material.
Originator The originator of the part.
Service Make Buy Code Assigned to one of the following: Unassigned, Make (in-house services), or Buy (services provided from outside sources).
Production Make Buy Code Assigned to one of the following: Unassigned, Make (items designed and fabricated in house), or Buy (items bought from outside sources).
Spare Part Indicates whether the intended use for the part is as a spare for the principle part used in the assembly.
Material Category The substance the part is made of, for example: Metal, Plastic, Glass, Rubber, Concrete.
Target Cost The amount of money that the part is expected to cost on a per part basis.
Active ECR or ECO Contains an icon if the part has an active ECR or ECO connected. The active ECR must be in one of the following states (by default): Create, Review, or Plan ECO. The active ECO must be in one of the following states (by default): Create, Define Components, Design Work, or Review. The states required to show the icon can be changed by the Business Administrator. See "Configuring Engineering Central Using the Properties File" in the Engineering Central Administrator's Guide.
Enable Materials Compliance A flag indicating whether this part is used in material composition. If parts that will never have material composition are not disabled, the top level part will be calculated erroneously for compliance.

Go to Production Revises the part from the development process into a production release process. This link is available only to Responsible Design Engineers who have revise access. --
Edit Details Edits the properties listed, including changing the owner. --
Create RFQ Creates a Request for Quote on this part. This link is available only if ENOVIA Sourcing Central is also installed. Sourcing Central help
Create Part Clone Creates a clone of the part. (If the part is a Manufacturer Equivalent Part, the Actions menu does not display this selection.) --
Subscribe to Subscribes to notifications of changes to a part. Subscription Events for Parts
