Logical View Page for a Model

The Logical View page for a model provides access to the candidate and committed logical features for a model.

You can access the Logical View page for a model by selecting Logical View from the model Categories menu.

Columns



Display Name Description
Display Name This column displays either the object's Name or its Display Name, depending on the Feature Name Display user preference setting. See Setting the Feature Name Display for details.
Status Description
State The current state of the object in its lifecycle
Active Engineering Change (EC) Yes or No; whether an active engineering change exists for the object
Higher Revision Yes or No; whether a higher revision of the object exists
Basics
Image The primary image associated with the object, if one exists
Name The name of the object. You can click on the highlighted name to open the Properties page for the object, or right-click the highlighted name to access additional actions, such as adding the object to a collection or finding related files.
Type The object type (i.e., Logical Feature)
Master Composition The model associated with the object
Display Text The display text associated with the object
Owner The owner of the object
Design Responsibility The Responsible Design Organization (RDO) for the object. See Assigning Design Responsibility for more information.
Part Family The part family to which the object belongs
State The current state of the object in its lifecycle
Design Variants Description
Design Variants Yes or No; whether design variants exist
Design Selection Criteria
Single/Multiple Selection Type, selection criteria for the Effectivity Matrix.
New Window Opens the object in a new window

Actions Menu

The Actions menu provides access to the following actions:

Create Logical Feature Creates a new logical feature and associates it with the context object. Creating a Logical Feature
Add Existing Adds an existing logical feature to the context object. Adding an Existing Logical Feature
Commit Commits a candidate object to a product revision. Committing a Logical Feature to a Product Revision
Remove Removes the selected object from the current context, but does not delete it from the database. Removing or Deleting a Logical Feature
Delete Deletes the selected object from the database and all associated contexts. Removing or Deleting a Logical Feature

Committed Logical Features

Columns

The Committed Logical Features tab contains the same columns as the Candidate Logical Features tab, slightly rearranged, with the addition of the following:

Column Description
Committed To The product revision to which the logical feature is committed.

Master Composition

Note: Master Feature functionality, which could be accessed from the Master Composition view for a model in earlier releases, was deprecated in V6R2012x.

Note: The Master Composition tab appears only if ENOVIA Design and Manufacturing Configuration Planning (CFP) is installed.

Columns

Column Description
Name The name of the object. You can click on the highlighted name to open the Properties page for the object, or right-click the highlighted name to access additional actions, such as adding an existing model.
Type Object type (e.g., Model)
Revision The revision of the object
Description Description of the object revision
State The state of the object in its lifecycle
Usage Usage on the object for the BOM. Can be one of three possible values: Standard, Optional, and Requires.


Page Toolbar

The page toolbar in the Master Composition tab contains the following buttons:

Add Existing Model
The Add Existing Model button associates an existing model with the context model.
Remove
This button becomes active when you select one or more models in the list. It removes the selected item(s) from the master composition but does not delete them from the database.
Delete
This button becomes active when you select one or more models in the list. It deletes the selected item(s) from both the master composition and the database. The system warns you that the selected items will be deleted from the database and asks you to confirm the deletion before continuing. A model can be deleted only if it does not have have a related product.
